Terms of business

For your own benefit and protection you should read these terms carefully. If you do not understand any point please ask us for further information. By accepting these Terms of Business, you are giving us consent for us to operate in this way.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is the independent watchdog that regulates financial services. It requires us to give you this document. Use this document to decide if our services are right to you.


We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Control Authority. Our FCA register number is 304975. You can check this on the FCA’s Register by visiting their website or by contacting the FCA on

Whose products do we offer

Although we are an independent intermediary, we cannot offer products from all insurers. We do, however believe that the insurers we use offer the most comprehensive cover for all your requirements and provide a service in every aspect. Whilst we monitor the financial strength of all the insurers with whom we place business, even the strongest insurers could be affected by adverse business conditions and therefore we cannot guarantee the solvency of any insurer.


Unless otherwise advised, any quotation given will remain valid for a period of thirty days from the quotation date.


All personal information you supply will be treated as private and confidential. We will use & disclose such information we have about you solely for the purpose of arranging and administrating your insurance. Other wise the only time we will pass on this information is when required by law, public interest or to such regulatory bodies as the FCA.

Disclosure of information

It is your responsibility to provide complete and accurate information to insurers when you take out insurance, throughout the life of your policy and when you renew a policy. It is important that all statements you make on any proposal form are full and accurate and that all material facts are disclosed. If you are unsure what is material then do not hesitate to ask as failure to do so may invalidate your insurance. In some case, a proposal form is replaced by a Statement of Fact document.

Although this document does not require a signature, it is still essential to check that all the details are indeed correct. Any discrepancies must be advised to us immediately as this forms the basis of the contract between you and the insurance company.

Credit Reference

In respect of personal insurances, to make sure you get the best offers and to protect you against fraud and to verify your identity, Insurers may use publicly available data which they obtain from various sources including Credit Reference Agencies. Their search will appear on your credit report whether or not your application proceeds. As well as this, Insurance Companies may use a credit check to assess the most appropriate payment option for you. Such searches will appear on your credit report as insurance checks and will not affect your credit rating. At your next renewal a credit check will be done as part of the renewal quotation process. If you agree to this then there is no further action you need to take. If you do not agree, then please contact us and we will not your file accordingly.

Awareness of policy terms

When the policy is issued, you are strongly advised to read it carefully, as this together with any schedule and certificate of insurance forms the basis of the insurance contract you have purchased. If you have any doubt over any of the terms or conditions you are advised to seek advice promptly.

Premium payment

We accept payment by cheque, cash or by BACS. You may be able to pay the insurer direct by credit/debit card or spread the payments through an instalment facility. If the insurer does not accept instalments we can offer Close Premium Finance. Full details of payment options will be given when discussing your insurance.


We do not make any charge for using our services. Some insurers do make a policy fee but this will be included in the quotation and will be shown quite clearly on their documentation.


Where a claims helpline is provided by the insurer this should be used to report a claim. Such numbers will be shown clearly within the policy documents. Normally these telephone numbers are available 24 hours.
In non emergency then if you contact us we will be able to advise you accordingly. You should not agree to any course of action, other than emergency measures to minimise a loss until you have the agreement of your insurer. In the case of a motor accident you should not admit any liability.


It is always our intention of providing a first class service. However, if at any stage you are dissatisfied with the service we provide, you should in the first instance contact us in writing or by phone. Please address any complaint to Brian Davies at the above address. Please provide details of your complaint together with details of the policy the complaint refers to with your full name and address. If your complaint cannot be resolved immediately, you will be sent of our complaints procedure. If you cannot resolve any complaint you may be entitled to refer the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service. (FOS)

Financial services compensation scheme (FSCS)

We are covered by the FSCS. You may be entitled to compensation from this scheme if we cannot meet our obligations. This depends on the type of business, when it was arranged and the circumstances of the claim. Insurance advising and arranging is covered for 100% of the first £2000and 90% of the remainder of the claim, with no upper limits. For full information is available from the FSCS.
